Tasting from winery
A lemon yellow hue with an orange tint. Aromas of muscat, pear, and white peach compote, complemented by herbal and vegetal notes. A slight sweetness balances well with acidity and a touch of bitter tannins. The finish is exceptionally long, with nectar-like, silky fruit flavors lingering on the palate. The aromatic bouquet, rounded taste, and alcohol content give it a character reminiscent of a Daiginjo sake. Light yet complex, this wine is rich in elements, offering a well-balanced and layered experience.

Domaine Expansion : Winery of Ambitious Dreams
domaine testa opened its doors in 2016 in the town of Tetta — located in the mountainous region of Niimi city, Okayama prefecture. As the name "domaine" would suggest, we carry out every stage of the wine-making process — from planting and harvesting of grapes, fermentation and aging, and through to racking and bottling. Originally this area was a local grape farm which eventually became abandoned. Ryuta Takahashi, the founder of domaine tetta, saw this uncultivated land and thought, "It's such a shame to see this once-beautiful vineyard going to waste. Let's try to bring back the beauty of this place." A small group of members led by Takahashi — whose hometown is in Niimi — embarked on this ambitious challenge in 2009. They started from scratch, planting grapes, meeting new contributors through the process of making wine, and gained the participation of top-level creatives. Finally, the first vintage was released in 2017. These fateful connections and happy encounters seemed to be destined. leading to the fulfillment of many long-held dreams, and the creation of domaine tetta.

The Land of Sunshine
As the name indicates, the wine grapes of domaine tetta are grown in the town of Tetta, Niimi city, in Okayama prefecture. Okayama — known as "The Land of Sunshine" — is distinguished by its long sunny days. With an average temperature of 13.7 degrees Celsius and annual rainfall of 1522 mm, the natural environment is ideal for harvesting high-quality grapes.
about the vineyard
Located in the upstream section of the Takahashi River along the Chugoku Mountain Range, the majority of the vineyard sits atop a karst plateau at an elevation of 400-600 meters. The winds blowing in from the southwest help cool the sun-warmed grapes, dispersing the humidity that collects over the vineyard.
about the soil
The secret of the vineyard is in the unique limestone soil (limestone and red soil) which drains water proficiently. This environment is similar to the famous wine regions of France, and brings out the full potential of the grapes. The range between hot and cold temperatures and the quality of its soil is what makes Tetta town special.
