Tasting from winery
"Good wine comes from good grapes" Since our founding in 1885, we have cherished this motto and continue to produce wines that are recognized worldwide.
We used Koshu grapes cultivated in our own vineyard, fermented them in barrels, and then finished with 18 months of barrel aging. The rich aromas of quince and apricot are accompanied by a subtle barrel fragrance, resulting in a harmonious blend of mellow fruit flavors and soft acidity, creating a rich and full-bodied taste.
About the producer
Seeking for the one that lasts eternally
Since Lumiere Winery's predecessor, Furiya Winery, was founded by Tokugi Furiya in 1885, we are one of the oldest family-owned wineries in Japan, continuing to grow grapes and make wine in the same place, and will celebrate our 140th anniversary in 2025.
Now under the leadership of the 5th generation, Shigeki Kida, we continue to challenge the new era of Japanese wine with his motto, 'Tradition & Innovation'.
About the Production Area
Japan Yamanashi Prefecture
No.1 Grape & Wine producing region of Japan
Yamanashi is the origin of the Koshu grape since the 8th century and the birthplace of viticulture and winemaking in Japan since the 19th century. Surrounded by high mountains, it is protected from typhoons and enjoys the longest daylight time in Japan. The region features well-drained soil, significant temperature differences between day and night, hot summers, cold winters, low rainfall, and over 60% sunny days throughout the year.
